How find an assignment
All assignments are to be found in the "My Assignments" link on the "Welcome Page
Go to the Welcome Page
Then go to the menu below & click on "My assignments"

 As assignments "open" (become available)  they will be listed here.
 As assignments "close" (become unavailable) they will be indicated here

Note for all assignments

  • Submit work before the assignment closes (becomes unavailable)
      
    All assignments open (become available) one week before they are due. You have  one complete week to do most assignments.
     
  •  Late work is not accepted for any reason: see late or emailed work policy
     
  • Submit work correctly for it to be accepted
       Emailed work is not accepted for any reason. see late or emailed work policy
       If you email work, it is immediately deleted.

     Occasionally an Extra Credit assignments may be offered. They will appear in
   "My Assignments"


   Work improperly submitted may not be found and will not be graded

How to post a Message Board (MB) assignment
(
post = write your response on the message board)

Note
It is easier to write Message Board assignments offline, then cute & paste them to the  Message Board; however, they may also be directly typed into the message board. Message Board Posts submitted in any form of "short-hand" slang, abbreviations etc. will not receive credit.

Label everything correctly
label each part of the assignment exactly as instructed in order for it to be graded and  get an expedient response.

When ready to submit

1.  When ready to post to the message board click: 
     This will take you to the message board.
 
2. When on the message board click: Reply 
    Write your response in the space provided.
  
3. When finished writing click: Submit

How to submit Essays & Shorter Writing assignments
(except any Shorter Writing which is designated to be posted to the Message Board)

Use appropriate file format
  • all assignments are to be written in MS WORD
  • align left: do not force justify text
  • \DO NOT use any type of formatting such as headers, indents, bullets, etc......)

Label everything correctly

  • put your name at the top left of the page(s) you are going to submit.
  • put your section # (IN or IN1) to the right of your name (ex: John Smith - IN)
  •  label each part of the assignment exactly as instructed
     
  • label the file: last name - assignment (ex: Smith - shorter writing 1)

    When ready to upload your assignment

    click: 

Then click Add/Edit Submission

Then click Browse...
Navigate to the file on your PC that you want to submit.
Highlight it - press open, or double click on it.
The file name and location will appear to the left of the button.

Then click Upload
The file name will appear in the rectangle on the bottom for verification.
Be sure this is the file you want to submit.

Then click Done
The file name will appear in the rectangle on the bottom to indicate it has been uploaded.

Then click Submit Assignment 
This completes the process.

How to submit a Timed Essay
The time limit for each will be specified on the assignment page. 
All must be completed in the allotted time  - in one sitting while online


Label everything correctly
In order for assignments to be graded and returned in an expedient manner, label & submit it correctly.
  •  put your name at the top left of the page(s) you are going to submit.
  •  put your section # (IN or IN1) to the left of your name (ex: John Smith - IN)

When ready to begin, return to the assignment page and follow these steps.

Click   (button on bottom of assignment page)  
DO NOT CLICK:   
 
Then on the next page click

You will have a specified time to compete the assignment.
The next page will be where the essay is to be written.

The Writing topic will become available


Write the Essay in this rectangle provided below the directions.
DO NOT try to cut & paste from an offline document. It will not work.

This will bring a pop-up warning.

Clicking "OK" will submit all of your collected answers so far.

OK     Cancel

OK = ends the session. You cannot do any more work on this essay.
